Depression (major depressive disorder) is a common and serious medical illness that negatively affects how you feel, the way you think and how you act. Fortunately, it is also treatable. Depression causes feelings of sadness and/or a loss of interest in activities once enjoyed. It can lead to a variety of emotional and physical problems and can decrease a person’s ability to function at work and at home.
Anxiety is an emotion characterized by an unpleasant state of inner turmoil, often accompanied by nervous behaviour such as pacing back and forth, somatic complaints, and rumination.
ADHD/ADD is a neurological condition that primarily impairs function in the pre-frontal and frontal regions of the brain. As a result, ADHD/ADD children become impulsive, inattentive and distractible. They also often crave stimulation (good or bad) in an effort to excite their brains.
